How to Clean Pitco Fryer?
Perform the initial & daily cleaning of the fryer as described below. Also, you can check out the
instructions for how to boil out a Pitco fryer.

Initial Cleaning
Generally, while shipping many parts of the Pitco fryer are coated with oil for protection. So,
you should clean it before starting the cooking. If you clean it, oil coating will be removed and
removes any foreign particles that are accumulated during shipment or storage. You can follow
the cleaning process as below given.
1. Fill the tank with water and add a mild detergent or one packet of Pitco fryer cleaner.2. Turn on your fryer and set the thermostat temperature to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Leave
the unit for 15 minutes to heat. Make sure the water level is not below the oil level mark
on the back of the fry tank.
3. With a fryer cleaning brush, you have to scrub the interior for removing the protective
coating.
4. After completion of fryer cleaning, turn off the main burners and turn the gas valve knob
to the "Pilot" position.
5. Now, drain the water from tank to a container that is suitable for hot water.
6. When the fryer's tank is cooled, rinse it thoroughly with cool water. You need to continue
to rinse it until the cleaner is removed completely from the tank.
7. Wipeout all water with a clean dry cloth. You should wipe out the water thoroughly as
any residual water causes hot oil to splatter out of the unit.
Note: Mild steel tanks must be wiped down or coated with oil to keep the tank free from
rusting.
1. Now, the tank is clean and you are ready to fill and operate your fryer.

Daily Cleaning
If you have done this procedure daily, your Pitco fryer will run effectively and give peak
performance for years to come.
Wipe down the exterior fryer: With a clean soft or microfiber cloth, you need to wipe up
shortening that spills onto the exterior surfaces of the Pitco fryer. Better to do this when
the oil is warm.
To clean unit surfaces, use a mix of warm water and mild detergent. Make sure not to
get water in the shortening. Rinse the fryer completely and dry thoroughly before use.
Use a non-abrasive scouring powder or pad to clean stains if you find stains from grease
or other food remnants.

Weekly Cleaning - How to Boil Out a Pitco Fryer?
The Pitco fryer has to be cleaned once a week. This is the right time if you want to replace the
filter paper. The cleaning includes complete draining of the fryer and boils out.You will need a large container to hold the volume of the tank. This container should also be
able to withstand boiling water temperatures. When the oil is replaced by water or heating
portion cleaning is completed, you have to shut off the fryer completely. This will prevent the
heating system from coming on during the oil draining and water filling procedure.
You have to drain the oil from the fryer and discard it. You can also reuse it. Remove tube rack
or mesh tube screens and remove any debris from the bottom of the fry tank. Clean them.
Once the cleaning is completed, return mesh screens and tube racks to the fry tank. Close the
drain valve and fill the tank with a mixture of non-caustic detergent and water. You can use
cleaner for best results.
Restart the fryer. When the temperature of unit gets 100 degrees centigrade, it will go to "Boil"
mode and bring the water to a slow boil. Once the water is at a slow boil, turn off the unit.
Soak the fryer for 20 minutes to soften shortening deposits and carbon. By using a fryer brush,
remove any residue from heating tubes, tank, and sidewalls. You need to perform standard
daily cleaning after scrubbing the tank.
Remove the filter from the unit. Next, slide a container to catch the water under the fryer so
that the pipe which is normally aimed into the filter pan is aimed into the container and open
the drain valve.
Drain the hot water to the taken container and rinse the fry tank with clean warm water.
Wipe the fry tank dry with a clean cloth. After that, close the drain valve and remove the
container. Now, refill the tank.

Honeywell Air Purifier Troubleshooting

Honeywell air purifiers are one of the most popular air purifiers in the market. These air purifiers are highly effective in reducing household odor, allergens and other air pollutants. However, once any purifier gets issues, it can't perform well. Most problems come from clogged filters, inlets, outlets and electrical problems. Therefore, we have come up with tips on Honeywell air purifier troubleshooting that helps you maintain optimum performance.

Honeywell Air Purifier Troubleshooting Tips

A Honeywell purifier cleans the air by filtering contaminants floating in your home. These models will use three separate filters for air purification. When your Honeywell air purifier refuses what it is supposed to do, knowing how to fix it can help you. To repair the Honeywell air purifier common problems and get it back up running, look at this post.

Air Purifier Stops Working

Some of the reasons behind your air purifier stopped working are:

Bad filter

You have to check for the clogged filter. As the filter in the air purifier cleans the air, it may get clogged with dirt and debris. Then, it can't able to do its job. If the filter is clogged, make sure it needs to be cleaned. Replace if the filter is too dirty.

Broken motor

The air purifier fan could be damaged. You will have to check the fan blades as well as the motor. If the blades are damaged, you should replace them with a new one. A broken motor caused to a high-pitched sound when you turn on your air purifier.

Blown fuse or unplugged cord

Check if the plug has been pulled out of the power outlet accidentally. If there is an electrical surge, then you can find that one or more fuses could be bad. Additionally, you have to verify the fuses.

It's better to try these two things before replacing any part. Also, try moving the power cord back into place so that no wires are stretched too tightly while you are doing this.

To ensure the proper operation of the Honeywell purifier, make sure the outlet has the correct rating.

Improper installation

Your air purifier may get stopped working because of improper installation. Once verify the installation instructions in the manual and confirm whether the installation has been done correctly or not. Some models need specific installations so check if your model needs any special installations.

Too close to a heat duct

See if the air purifier is placed too close to a heat duct. If so, it might cause to overheat and shut down. So, move away from vents or other heat sources.

Many devices on the circuit breaker

If your unit is running low on power, verify the devices which are running on the same circuit breaker. Make sure the amount of electricity provided by the outlet matches what you need so that you won't get the circuits to overload in your home.

Honeywell Air Purifier Keeps Shutting Off

If filters of the air purifier are clogged, your unit will not run as long before it shuts off. So, check and clean the filters if needed.

Overheating

If you observe overheating of your air purifier, turn it in a colder environment and verify if it still shuts off.

Manufacturing defects

If everything else looks good, then there might be a manufacturing defect. In this case, you need to contact customer service or have it replaced.

Honeywell Air Purifier Error Codes

If there is a problem with the device, power cord or electrical wiring, your Honeywell air purifier will give error codes.

Code E-01: This code is because of a blown fuse. You will need to replace it if required.

Code K-05: When the air purifier won't turn on or off, you can get this error code. Try to contact an authorized technician for servicing.

Code E-02: It indicates the overheating. Try turning the air purifier off and leaving it in a colder environment. Also, check if there is faulty wiring going on.

Code L-05: When you see this code, understand that your purifier is not working because of a blown fuse or power outage.

Code L-07: It identifies the error with the electrical wiring and takes the help of a professional to remove the code.

Air Purification is Not Working Well

If your air purification is not working well, you will be able to take unfiltered air. The possible causes are:

Room coverage is too large.

Indoor air quality is terrible.

Objects are blocking the air intake and outlet.

The dust has built upon the filters.

The filter might be closed to the corner.

Ventilate the whole room once before start using the air purifier and close all windows and doors when you started.

Final Thoughts

From this post, you will be able to diagnose and solve the most common issues that will affect the performance of your air purifier. However, you may get all these Honeywell air purifier problems with irregular maintenance and incorrect usage. Hence, clean your Honeywell air purifier and clean the filter to ensure optimum efficiency. Check the manual for more Honeywell air purifier instructions.

York Air Conditioner Installation

Have you bought a new York air conditioning unit? And, looking to install it? If yes, we are here to help you by providing the complete guide on York air conditioner installation. In this post, we have given the instructions. In this post, we have given the instructions for both indoor and outdoor unit installations. So, read this entire post and complete your York AC installation easily and as quickly as possible.

1. Select the Installation Location

You should follow the below standards while selecting the location for York air conditioner installation. The needed standards for proper installation are:

Convenient drainage.

Good air circulation.

Firm and solid, the location should not vibrate.

Strong enough to support the weight of the air conditioning unit.

A location must be at least one meter from other electrical devices.

You do not install your indoor unit:

Nearby source of heat, steam and combustible gas.

Near flammable things like curtains, clothing, etc.

At the doorway.

Near any obstacle that might block air circulation.

The location should not be subjected to direct sunlight.

2. Attach Mounting Plate to Wall

The mounting plate is the device on which you will mount the indoor unit. So, here, you can know how to attach the mounting plate to the wall.

Remove the screw that attaches the mounting plate to the back of your indoor unit.

Now, you have to place the mounting plate against the wall in a location as per the standards given in the manual.

After that, drill holes for mounting screws in places that have studs and support the unit weight and the place need to correspond to screw holes in the mounting plate.

Tighten and secure the mounting plate to the wall with the screws provided.

The mounting plate should be flat against the wall.

3. Drill wall hole for connective piping

You will need to drill a hole in the wall for refrigerant piping, the drainage pipe and the signal cable that connects the indoor and outdoor units.

This wall hole has a minimum of 65mm diameter and at a slightly lower angle to facilitate drainage. Make sure the location of the wall hole should be based on the position of the mounting plate.

You can use a 65 mm core drill for drilling a hole in the wall. Moreover, it should be a slight downward angle so that the outdoor end of the hole is lower than the indoor. It helps for proper water drainage.

At last, place the protective wall cuff in the drilled hole. It protects the hole edges and helps to seal them when you complete the installation process.

4. Prepare Refrigerant Piping

The refrigerant piping is inside an insulating sleeve that is attached to the back of the unit. You should prepare the piping before passing it through the hole in the wall.

You have to choose the side from which the piping exit the indoor unit based on the wall hole position relative to the mounting plate.

If the wall hole is to the side of the unit, you need to remove the plastic knock-out panel from the side of the outdoor unit. If the hole is behind the indoor unit, keep the knock-out panel in place.

Cut down the length of the insulating sleeve to about 15cm of the refrigerant piping by using scissors.

If existing connective piping is already embedded in the wall, you can proceed directly with the drain hose connection.

You have to determine the angle of your piping depending on the wall hole position relative to the mounting plate.

Grip the refrigerant piping at the base of the bend.

Next, bend the piping towards the hole slowly with even pressure.

5. Connect Drain Hose

By default, the drain hose is attached to the left side of the air conditioning unit. You need to attach it to the right side as well.

You have to connect the drain hose on the same side where your refrigerant piping exists in the unit to ensure proper drainage.

Now, attach the drain hose extension to the end of the drain hose.

Seal the connection point firmly with Teflon tape to prevent leaks.

Remove the air filter and pour a small amount of water into the drain pan to keep the water flowing as smooth from AC.

6. Connect Signal Cable

This signal cable enables communication between the indoor & outdoor units. So, the cable should be in the right size for proper operation.

Prepare the signal cable for connection.

After that, open the front panel of the indoor unit.

Open the wire box cover on the right side with a screwdriver to access the terminal block.

Now, unscrew the cable clamp below the terminal block and keep it aside.

Facing the back of indoor unit, remove the plastic panel on the bottom left-hand side.

Pull the signal wire through this slot from back to the front of the unit.

Match all wire colors based on the labels on the terminal block. Connect the u-lug and firmly screw each wire to the corresponding terminal.

Once you confirmed that every connection is secured, you have to fasten the cable to the unit with a cable clamp.

Now, replace the wire cover and the plastic panel.

7. Wrap Piping and Cables

Before passing the piping, drain hose, and the signal cable through the wall hole, bundle them together to save space. Also, you need to protect them, and insulate them.

8. Mount indoor unit

If you have installed the new connective piping to the outdoor unit, then do the following:

Hook the top of the indoor unit on the upper hook of the mounting plate.

Check that the AC is hooked firmly on mounting by applying slight pressure.

Push down on the bottom of the indoor unit. You need to keep pushing down until it snaps onto the hooks along the bottom of the mounting plate.

Again check whether it is firmly mounted or not by applying slight pressure.

Outdoor Unit Installation

Here, you can check the outdoor unit installation instructions.

Select the proper location.

Install drain joint.

Anchor outdoor unit to the ground or a wall-mounted bracket.

Check the manual for the detailed installation process of York AC outdoor unit installation.

Conclusion

Hope this guide on York air conditioner installation helped you more to make your work easier. If you need any further instructions on either indoor unit installation or outdoor unit installation, you can refer to your York manual.

Vulcan Deep Fryer Troubleshooting

Vulcan deep fryers are easy to operate and maintain. Also, they increase productivity and minimize your restaurant's operational cost. With faster recovery from problems, they are designed to be the most profitable pieces of equipment in your kitchen. So, if your Vulcan deep fryer is not functioning properly, try to fix it yourself before calling a technician. In addition to regular maintenance, you can follow these Vulcan deep fryer troubleshooting tips and make your equipment work as effectively.

The temperature of shortening drops or excessive recovery time is required

Insufficient gas supply to unit - Check if enough gas is supplied. If there is insufficient gas supply, you have to adjust the gas supply at the gas combination valve.

It might be because of the ventilation system pulling heat out of the heat exchanger and flue box. Try with relocating the fryer.

Fryer capacity is overloaded - You should adjust the load accordingly.

Inspect the thermostat calibration and reaction times. If there are any changes, you need to calibrate or replace the thermostat.

Vulcan fryer pilot won't stay lit

Malfunctioning thermopile or loose connection or incorrect connection in thermopile might be caused for this. So, you have to check thermopile function and connections. If there is a loose connection or damage, you need to adjust or replace it as needed.

Gas supply - See if the gas supply is turned off or disconnected. Turn on the gas supply or reconnect. Check for pilot burner orifice and air opening require cleaning. Hence, you should clean the burner orifice and air openings if required.

Now, you have to check whether there is shorted combination valve. While checking, you need to go through each post on the combination valve to the ground. If you notice that as zero resistance, you need to replace the combination valve.

Finally, check the high limit is open.

Rapid shortening breakdown, crumbs, and specks in the frying compound

Possible Causes:

Excessive temperature setting.

Shortening not being filtered regularly.

Incorrect preparation of breaded food.

Troubleshoot:

If it has an excessive temperature setting, you need to change the setting to normal.

Adjust the filtering schedule. Don't use salt.

Allow breading time to adhere to the food.

Make sure you do not allow loose flour to fall into shortening from your hands.

Do not add straining or drippings from meat fats to shortening.

You have to use the right shortening. Moreover, follow temperature recommendations.

Take out 10 to 15 percent of the shortening.

At last, you need to check the thermostat settings with the thermometer periodically.

Leaking Tank

When the foam over by depleted shortening permits the oil to drip from the tank surface, it will cause leaking. If this happened, replacement of shortening is required.

Careless draining procedures - See that the gas control valve knob must be in the "Pilot" or "Off" position before draining oil. If the burners heat an empty tank, it will damage tank joints.

Another is, carbon buildup causes a rapid attack on the tank by promoting acid formulation. So, make sure to clean the tank surfaces.

Pilot burner flames adjusted properly, but fluctuates to very low and blow out easily

Gas pressure is too low and gas pressure too low at submanifold are the possible causes for this problem. To fix the problem, first, check gas pressure on submanifold fitting when your Vulcan fryer is running. Also, check any other equipment that is connected to the same gas line. You have to adjust the gas pressure to not less than 4.0" W.C. (natural and mixed gas) at submanifold or 10.0" W.C. for propane gas.

Gas deep fryer troubleshooting

If you are using a Vulcan gas deep fryer, here some problems and possible causes.

No spark to ignite pilot gas

Check if the drain valve switch is opened or the switch malfunctioned.

A shorted electrode or an improper ground on flame sense.

Due to interconnecting wiring malfunction.

The Ignitor cable is open and ignition module malfunction is caused for this issue.

Sparks but gas doesn't ignite

Because of service gas valve closed.

Gas supply off or insufficient gas pressure might be the reason.

Check if the high limit thermostat is open.

Inspect that the ignition module could have malfunctioned.

Verify whether the gas combination valve is OFF or not operating.

Gas burners ignite but the flame not remains

.There may be incorrect gas pressure.

.Check for the obstructions in the gas orifice. Remove if any.

.When the burner has malfunctioned, this might have appeared. Also, see the gas pilot malfunction.

Deep fryer won’t turn on

Is your Vulcan deep fryer on turning ON? The most likely reason is a problem with the power cord. Generally, the power cord is connected to the fryer magnetically. If your fryer is bumped or moved, it will disconnect easily. Ensure that your power cord is connected properly before concluding it is defective. Your power cord might be faulty because the damage of internal wires or cord contacts is worn or dirty. So, it's better to replace the power cord of your unit.

If there is an issue with the control assembly, then your unit will not be turned on. The control assembly houses the thermostat, heating element, and control board. This helps the fryer for heating so if anyone is faulty, the deep fryer will not turn on. However, you have to test the continuity of all these Vulcan deep fryer parts using a multimeter. You can check the owner's manual to find out the correct readings. Replace the whole assembly if one of these parts failed.

Conclusion:-

Hope your read this Vulcan deep fryer troubleshooting guide for tips on how to fix the problems of your unit and get it running smoothly again.
